The Board of Trustees of Richland County First Steps is pleased to announce the appointment of Ginny Waller, Esq. as Interim CEO, following the resignation of Marcia Bacon.
Marcia Bacon has served as the Executive Director of Richland County First Steps for the past six years, during which she has made significant contributions to the organization’s mission to prepare children for school success. Under her leadership, Richland County First Steps has expanded its programs and services, impacting thousands of children and families throughout the community.

In her place, Ginny Waller, Esq., has been appointed as Interim CEO. Ginny is an experienced Executive Director, skilled facilitator, licensed lawyer, and professional fundraiser with more than seventeen years of experience in nonprofit leadership development in governance and operations, strategic planning, and operational efficiency. She specializes in navigating leadership transitions and building relationships.

As a professional interim, my role is to provide support and stability to staff and operations, while assessing the organization’s governance and management capacity. The ultimate goal is to ensure mission impact long after I am gone,” said Ginny Waller, Interim CEO, Richland County First Steps.
During her tenure, Ginny will assist the organization in identifying opportunities and developing priorities for improvement to foster continued growth. She will navigate the transition to set the organization and its new executive leadership on a continued path of success to empower Richland County to nurture children, so they are ready to thrive in school.
Additionally, Ginny’s firm, Waller Consulting, will lead a thoughtful and strategic search for the new leader, ensuring a smooth and effective transition for the organization.
