RCFS recently released our 2012-13 Annual Report. We hope you will take a few moments to download and read it, then share it with your friends, family, colleagues, and community decision makers. Every day we are making a difference in the lives of young children and their families, and we want the world to know it.

Just a few quick highlights:

  • We leveraged our annual allocation of $743,919 from the General Assembly to the tune of an additional $1,598,411. That’s 215% in leveraged funds! | jump to this section of report
  • Using the Teaching Strategies/Creative Curriculum GOLD assessment tool, children in our Early Head Start program are making tremendous progress and most are meeting or exceeding goals: 82% in Language and Literacy Development; 89% in Cognition and General Knowledge; 90% in Social or Emotional Development; and 90% in Approaches to Learning.| jump to this section of report
  • Our Partnership Board are active and engaged, taking a leadership role in advocating for First Steps reauthorization by the General Assembly. Our board members wrote letters, e-mails, and op-eds — 49 in all, and 7 members testified before the South Carolina Joint Citizens and Legislative Committee on Children about the importance of quality early care and education. | jump to this section of report
